Facebook to Unveil New Look for its Newsfeed on 7th March

Facebook is all set to unveil new look of its newsfeed RSS on 7th of March at a high-profile media event.

Social networking site Facebook is all set to unveil new look of its newsfeed RSS on 7th of March of next week. The latest move by the Facebook Inc. is to revamp key elements of its highly popular newsfeed RSS. Eventually Facebook has a huge member network of around 1 billion.

Facebook will unveil the new look in one of its headquarters, which is situated at Menlo Park, California. It will organize a highly professional media event on 7th March to showcase the makeover of its newsfeed. On Friday Facebook send an email invitation to the reporters with all the detailed information about the media event.

On this January Facebook had organized a professional media event at the time of launching of its “Graph Search” feature. So the upcoming event will be its second high-class product event for this year.

Basically what Facebook offers through its newsfeed is a very unique and popular idea in deed. It mainly displays a stream of status updates, photos, videos and comments, which has been uploaded from a user's network of friends or interest based pages. The best part of its is it updates with time quite frequently, which makes it ever-changing and interesting in the eyes of the users.

Chief Executive and founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg has said that the newsfeed rss of Facebook is one of the three "pillars" of the service provided by the social networking giant, along with other two i.e. search and user profiles. Eventually Facebook asked for user’s mobile number for more security last year.

As a matter of fact Facebook’s newsfeed hasn’t changed much for quite few times now. The last major update provided by Facebook in this section was in September 2011. Facebook has already enabled the ads directly into its newsfeed to provide better exposure for its advertisers.

Like many of the top level web companies Facebook too has shifted its almighty focus to create a better mobile experience for its 1 billion user groups. It has to be mentioned here that more people now use Facebook along with other social networks via mobile devices than desktop PCs on an everyday manner.

Mr. Brian Blau, who is an analyst with Gartner, which is a popular industry research firm, said that the active mobile version of Facebook (“Facebook for Every Phone”) still lacks some of the key features that are easily available in its web version. In his view Facebook may come up some of that together by updating its mobile version to the optimum level to give its mobile users a wonderful surprise gift.

Eventually soon after the breaking news had arrived in the market the shares of the No 1 social networking site of the world were up nearly 2% i.e. around 52 cents at $27.77 in midday trading on Friday.
